Living in Los Angeles has its highs and lows. The exceptional food being a huge advantage, but the traffic and cost of living can take a toll. The other day the 10 freeway almost did me in.
However, the diversity of this city (and the sunshine) continues to keep me a devoted fan. Last week I read that admission to the Marciano Art Foundation is free of charge. Seriously?!?! How refreshing it was to read about a fabulous exhibit, in Los Angeles, open to the public, for FREE! Even better, the tickets are plentiful and easy to get online. One would think this is too good to be true, there must be a catch. I too was skeptical-but I promise, it’s legit.

And it’s pure, thought provoking fun

I went last week with a friend and as an added bonus, our timed ticket was around noon, so the traffic was minimal. This fairly new contemporary art space is housed in an old Masonic Temple and features artwork from the Guess founder’s 1500 piece collection. Three floors filled with diverse pieces from the photographer Catherine Opie, to the popular Yayoi Kusama. Kids will especially love Kusama’s bright polka-dotted room filled with tulip sculptures.
Run, don’t walk, to get your tickets this summer at the Marciano Art Foundation located in mid-town Los Angeles. Here’s the link:
Afterwards you can splurge on lunch with the money you’ve saved ; )
I LOVED THIS SPACE WHICH I SAW ON MY LAST VISIT TO LA…Kudos to you for sharing it, Polly. Love, Judy
